Bhuvna’s passion for Yoga began as a young adult when she picked up her first copy of Light on Yoga. She is a certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher, having graduated from the Iyengar South Bay Teacher Training program. She continues to attend conferences and online classes with the Iyengar family at RIMYI and various senior teachers globally. Bhuvna believes that there is a Yoga for everyone and every condition and considers it her mission to spread the joy of Iyengar Yoga.

came to Iyengar Yoga, years ago, seeking relief from low back pain. Finding the method effective and complete, he went on to become a level one CIYT. He has studied with teachers around the world, including the Iyengars, in Pune.

has been a yoga practitioner for more than 20 years and is a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher. She is also a National Academy of Sports Medicine certified personal trainer and has been teaching groups and individuals since 2016. Through her own journey of seeking a healthy life and working with other people to do the same, she has observed the positive changes Iyengar yoga can make in a person’s health. Lina believes a regular yoga practice will help strengthen the body, calm the nervous system, and ease the mind. She wants to bring these benefits to people through her teaching.

is a certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher, having graduated from the Iyengar Yoga South Bay Teacher Training program and continues to study with Jito Yumibe and Marla Apt. She has been teaching Iyengar yoga since 2018. Influenced by her teachers, her late father and peers, she aims to bring dynamism, engagement and a unique sense of empowerment to her class through intention, invocation, meditation and asana. Yoga has helped find her inner self, made her life easier, enjoyable and more meaningful for her to share this joy with others. Being in a research based pharmaceutical industry, she considers yoga as an applied field of research and strongly believes the combination of yoga and modern science has the potential to provide everyone with a holistic health.

Ruchi Murlidhar  (she/her)  www.iyruchi.com
is a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher and a certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT). She is a graduate of the Advanced Studies/Teacher Training program of the Iyengar Yoga Institute of San Francisco. Ruchi began learning yoga in elementary school in India and tried various forms of yoga before focusing on Iyengar Yoga. She studies regularly with her mentor Elise Miller, Jito Yumibe along with other senior teachers Lois Steinberg and Victoria Austin who is also her pranayama teacher. She has also been fortunate to study in India at RIMYI with Geeta Iyengar. She is often found experimenting in the kitchen and enjoys California sunshine while hiking/biking with her two boys. She loves to volunteer at her kids school and in her community. Her vibrant personality and sense of humor make her classes playful and accessible for students of all ages.

has been a student of Iyengar Yoga since the  late 90's and has been teaching for more than 15 years. Certified at Level 1, she was a long time student and a graduate of the Iyengar Yoga Institute of Los Angeles Teacher Training Program. She has participated in Iyengar Yoga Conventions in the US and India. In addition, she has been fortunate to study with the Iyengar family and senior teachers in India and worldwide and continues to do so. A past board member of the  Iyengar Yoga Association of Southern California, she has a keen interest in spreading Iyengar Yoga in the South Bay. Her teaching is simple and direct.

has been practicing various types of yoga since 2004, but it wasn’t until 2009 that she was introduced to Iyengar yoga. In 2018 she became a student of Jito Yumibe at Iyengar Yoga South Bay’s Teacher Training program and is now certified at CIYT Level 1. Initially she was drawn to Iyengar yoga for its ability to calm her mind, alleviate pains, and increase strength and flexibility, but after continued and regular practice, she found that the benefits are more profound. She regularly participates in workshops and conventions with the Iyengar family and senior teachers in the US. She enjoys exposing the transformative power of yoga to new and experienced students.

Amanda Scampini   ascampini.iyoga@gmail.com
has been practicing since the early 2000’s and fell into the Iyengar tradition in 2016. She has studied under Jito Yumibe at Iyengar Yoga South Bay since 2018 and is certified at Level 1. She traveled to Pune in 2018 for BKS Iyengar's Centenary celebrations and was taught by Geeta and Prashant Iyengar. She regularly attends workshops and conventions with the Iyengar family and senior teachers in the United States, and she has been studying directly with the Iyengar family at RIMYI in India through online classes. Though she always planned to teach, it was her experience during her first pregnancy and postpartum that solidified any doubts. Her experience led to a deeper understanding of asana and pranayama, and it improved her ability to teach all bodies in general. She especially enjoys sharing yoga with others and hearing how it positively influences their daily lives.

is a graduate of the Teacher Training program at the Iyengar Yoga Institute of San Francisco. She has been studying Iyengar yoga for more than 18 years and teaching for more than 8. Practicing yoga keeps Kim positive and grounded. She enjoys making the benefits of yoga accessible to all. Kim is a certified Iyengar yoga teacher.

Jito Yumibe   (408) 644-1368   jitoyumibe@sbcglobal.net
has been a practitioner of Iyengar yoga since the mid 70s and became a Certified Iyengar Yoga teacher at the Introductory level in 1988. She is currently certified at the Senior level. She has studied numerous times with the Iyengar family since 1984 in India as well as at conventions in the US. In the US she continues her studies with Senior teachers and has been an on-going student in the Iyengar Yoga Therapeutics program in Los Angeles since its inception. Through teaching she seeks to share the many benefits she has gained through this lifelong practice and offers her teaching as gratitude for the light that the late BKS Iyengar brought to yoga.
